For an exciting holiday or maybe even an action-packed day's thrills in Spain, look no further than PortAventura. PortAventura is famed because of its great selection of rides; they range between children's rides to soft, moderate and high thrill rides, spread across six different aspects of the whole park. These are Medditerà nia, Polynesia, China, Mexico, Far West and SésamoAventura, which is brand new for 2011. This Sesame Street themed area is perfect for families with young children. Height restrictions do make an application for some rides.

Medditerà nia Rides
Furius Baco is probably the most intense rides available here, with speeds up to 135km/h you're guaranteed to obtain a thrill. Or ingest stunning views when you journey towards the Far West for a taste from the Old West via train; the Estació del Nord ride.
Polynesia Rides
Right here is the spot to be for medium thrill rides. High up the list is the 4D experience which is Sea Odyssey; select from Turtle Vision or Aquaride to get a ride that basically stretches the human senses. If you don't mind getting a bit wet the Kon-Tiki Wave ride puts you in the middle of hawaiian isle storm so be prepared for a tough ride!
China Rides
The Dragon Khan ride is a must-see, reaching speeds of 100km/h with eight loopdaloops it is easy to believe the legend of the prince converted into a dragon.
Mexico Rides
The typical runaway mine cart is revamped with lots of energy on El Diablo, and you will walk away having a souvenir photo or video if you prefer a reminder of the journey. Serpiente Emplumada delves into ancient Mexican traditions, involving a sacred totem and dizzying revolutions.

If rapids are your thing then the Grand Canyon Rapids will probably be essential on your own itinerary. A giant rubber ring takes your group around the rapids, but be warned, pricier to be strapped in! Tip: hold on tight for dear life.
